We're excited to introduce Heidi Grey, our new Business Development lead at Skilljar! Heidi is responsible for sharing the Skilljar story with prospective clients and helping them navigate their LMS search. As described below, Heidi has a unique story - she was actually a Skilljar trainee at her previous company, TUNE. As a result, she was able to personally experience the benefits of sharing Skilljar-powered training with her customers (check out TUNE's site at academy.tune.com).
Originally from the Seattle area, Heidi has an amazing positive spirit, a customer-first personality, and an in-depth understanding of technical subjects. In addition to working in technology sales, Heidi started her career in retail sales, so is very experienced with customer care. As a former collegiate soccer player, Heidi is also very collaborative, competitive, and an incredible team player.
We are thrilled to have Heidi aboard. She is truly raising the bar for our team. Welcome Heidi!
Q: What three words would you use to describe yourself?
A: Kind, tenacious & silly
Q: What’s your favorite place to visit in Seattle?
A: What isn't my favorite place to visit?! If I have to choose, I would say it is going on a walk at the Ballard Locks (after brunch at Portage Bay).
Q: Tea or coffee?
A: It depends on my mood, but probably coffee now that Elm Street Coffee Roasters is just right around the corner. They have the best Americano.
Q: What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
A: My labradoodle, Finley!
Q: What inspires you?
A: My friends, family and co-workers. I am surrounded by truly driven, smart and engaging people on a daily basis and they are a constant inspiration in my career and life in general.
Q: How did you first hear about Skilljar, and what interested you about the company?
A: I had the opportunity to use Skilljar as a learner at my previous company. I was able to go through training at my own pace and also participate in tweaking the content to share with my customers during their onboarding experience. Skilljar is definitely leading the way in modernizing how companies engage with their customers and foster product adoption through on demand training. I think the fact they are on the cutting edge of customer training is what attracted me to Skilljar.
Q: Describe your last experience with online learning.
A: My last experience with online learning was with Skilljar through TUNE and it was fantastic! (see above for the full story.)
Q: If you were going to offer a course online, what would it be about?
A: Style! I've always been drawn to clothing as a way to communicate who you are to the world (My first job out of college was at Nordstrom!) Building a base wardrobe and adding key pieces to reflect your own personal taste is something I would love to share with the interwebs.
